Of burnt dosas and salty Chutney..
What do i call this, lack of inspiration or just plain laziness? It has taken me 4 long months to come up with a new post. On a sleepy day as this i get this sudden urge to open my blogpage, after god knows how many months and post a total rambly, random stuff. I basically want to let people know of my struggle with dosas and chutney. Why do things go bad when you least expect it ? I would rate myself a decent cook, may be a little above average. So on this fine sunday i wake up at the rumbling of my poor stomach. If i had the slightest concern for my stomach, instead of getting hooked to the computer, i would have done things to silence the cries of it. After several hours of listening to crappy songs and chatting with silly friends, i finally get out of my bed only to find my refrigerator empty. My stomach cries even more. So here i decide to test my culinary skills. I open a pack of instant dosa mix and start stirring it. Here i loose my mind and to some random thought. I get totally oblivious to my surroundings and actions. I bounce back to reality after several minutes of stirring. Then i place a pan and the mix on the pan, hoping to eat some delicious dosas. Ahh!!, I miss you mom!!!
Dosas are supposed to be round in shape. My dosa was nothing less than the shape of South America and hell black. By God's grace, the third dosa was eatable or edible or whatever. So i place a single malformed, colourless, odorless pancake on my plate and decide to make some chutney. I pick 2 rotten tomatoes and clear the rotten part. Everything goes fine until i get lost in my world of thoughts and add several spoons of salt to the dish. Finally i settle for some cornflakes and coffee. Pretty decent for a not so decent cook
Uruguay, a tiny country in South America. I got here on May 1st. I shall post more about Latin America experience in the next couple of days. I wish to see half the continent before i bid adios to this lovely country. I learnt a zillion things, enountered several challenges and confronted them. A trip to Buenos Aires is next on my list.

what is the deal with these instant dosa mixes?? I could not make them at first either.. I had to go through 6 or 7 dosas to get my first small one right..
The fact that u made them after just 3 failed attempts makes me feel ashamed cause I am a much better cook than you :)
(I expect a verbal barrage from you for that last comment)

@Karthik
May be you do not know about my culinary skills. I can cook just about anything.Next time we meet, we can test it if you want. Some kind of a competition? Also, the 3 failed attempts were cos i was not myself that day.. It was the dizzy-dazzy jyotsna.. The previous day was a Saturday :p
@Suyash
The 'Caution' work reminds me of the GPS system fit in my frens car. It would never fail to remind him to watch his speed. If i overspeed, i will remember ur words. Right now, my life is travelling at a very slow pace dude. Thanks nyways..
